A PhD position in biomedicine in the form of Junior Researcher position in biomedicine is available in the University of Split School of Medicine, Croatia for the academic year 2011-2012.

Desicription:
The University of Split School of Medicine, Croatia is seeking a young and focused person for a junior academic position in biomedicine. The project that the candidate will be attached to investigates genetic background of complex diseases, by investigation of isolated human populations of the Croatian Adriatic islands (project title The determinants of health and diseases in general and isolated human populations; The Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, project code 216-1080315-0302). The candidate will be expected to have an MD title and be familiar with the local customs and practices. The place of work will be Split and Korcula island, where candidate will be expected to work for several months over the period of four years. The contract lasts for six years, during which period a candidate will be expected to complete a PhD degree. Upon completion of the PhD degree, candidate will have the opportunity to remain employed for additional four post-doctoral years. Candidate for this post will be expected to have good communication skills and an interest in research, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at Medical School, University of Split. This position is equally available for candidates of both genders.
